Sakwa Bunyasi, Havi among new President Ruto appointees

President William Ruto has appointed former Busia county gubernatorial candidate John Sakwa Bunyasi as Chairperson of the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board for a period of 3 years, Citizen Digital has reported.

This was after the President revoked the appointment of Caroline Kariuki.

Sakwa’s appointment comes a day after his petition challenging the election of Governor Paul Otuoma was thrown out by the court.

In a gazette notice dated February 6, 2023, the Head of State appointed former Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga as the chairman, Insurance Regulatory Authority for a period of three years.

Mohamed Amin Sheikh appointment was revoked.

Also appointed is Dr. Samier Muravvej,  chairperson of the Board of Directors of Kenyatta National Hospital for a period of three years; appointment of George Opondo Ooko revoked.

Further, the Head of State appointed Daniel Rono as KEMSA Board Chairperson for a period of 3 years, revoking the appointment of Mary Chao Mwadime.

Another beneficiary in th new appointments is former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma, appointed Chairperson of the SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority for the same period.

Meanwhile former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi was appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Retirement Benefits Authority.

Havi was appointed by Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u, revoking Abdirahin Abdi’s appointment.

At the same time, President Ruto appointed Cleophas Lagat as chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Rivatex East Africa Limited for a period of three years.

This was after the President revoked the appointment of Linus Gitahi.
