Ledama Olekina’s message to Matiang’i after firing

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina has hit out at the outgoing CS Interior and Coordination Dr. Fred Matiang’i over what he terms as kickback business.

Ledama was referring to the new police uniforms which were introduced under Matiang’i’s tenure.

He called for their change.

“The Kenyan Police uniforms must be changed,” he wrote on Twitter.

However, Kenyans questioned the Senator’s turnaround, as some sided with him.

During campaigns, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua vowed to change the police uniforms once Kenya Kwanza ascended into office.

While naming his cabinet on Tuesday, President William Ruto replaced Matiang’i with former Tharaka-Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki.

Later, the statehouse announced that Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai had proceeded on terminal leave.

Meanwhile, DCI boss George Kinoti also tendered his resignation as announced by President Ruto.
