Police officers in Uganda are holding in custody a woman who was arrested after chopping off her husband’s genitals.

The husband later succumbed to injuries sustained in the heinous act.

The Daily Monitor quotes Uganda’s police spokesperson Fred Enanga as saying “Joy Bira, a resident of Makindye Division in Kampala is facing charges of murdering Benson Baluku, who was her husband.”

It is said that Baluku returned home while drunk on March 26, and started fighting with his wife on accusation that she was cheating on him.

“During the domestic fight, the husband grabbed his wife by the neck and started strangling her which prompted her to draw out a knife and chop off his genitals,” Enanga said as quoted by Monitor.
