Citizen Tv, a top news outlet in Kenya last night faced a backlash from law makers allied to Tanga Tanga outfit.
Led by Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, the MPs castigated the media house, although no reason was given.
“Citizen TV Kenya is the latest member of the Githeri Media Group (GMG). Let’s all migrate to TV 47 Kenya for credible news stories.” the MP wrote on his official Facebook page.
This came barely an hour after Citizen TV ran a top story in which Deputy President William Ruto’s motorcade was blocked by angry youths in Kieni, Nyeri county.
However, Barasa’s post attracted a backlash from a section of Kenyans on social media.

Citizen Tv stood with us real Hustlers when times were very difficult in Kenya. It has grown local talents, when all other stations thought they were too classy to accommodate hustlers. If there is anybody to sing bottom up economy support should be SK Macharia. He has given many a platform to grow from grass to grace. Unlike your master who makes “Kes.1.5M” a day but cannt employ the youth but want state paid security to guard him & his properties..
