“Wachana nayo!” CJ Martha Koome distances self from tweet

The Judicial Service Commission, JSC on Monday rubbished purporting to be from Chief Justice Martha Koome.

In the tweet, the user impersonating CJ Koome praised the prayers conducted at State House on Sunday.

However, the the Judiciary clarified that the tweet alleging that Koome had praised a decision by President William Ruto to hold the prayers was not genuine.

The fake tweet was from a Twitter handle with Koome’s profile photo, and the account is verified.

The tweet suggested that the Judiciary should emulate the act.

“Thank you, William Ruto, for making State House a house of prayer. A good example for Kenya Judiciary. Kenya is a country of God,” the fake tweet read.

A spot check by this author, however, revealed that a last tweet on Koome’s official page, was on September 23, 2022.

On the fake account, they misspelt her title by using a small ‘j’ whereas, on her real account, capital ‘J’ is used.
