KCSE candidate passes on in bungled delivery minutes after paper

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) competitor passed on while delivering a baby minutes subsequent to finishing her paper on Wednesday.

She was undertaking her KCSE exams at Rata Secondary School in Seme, Kisumu County.

According to County Director of Education, Isaak Atebe, the young lady passed on at a nearby dispensary on Wednesday night.

Atebe said the report demonstrates that the perished had effectively done her Wednesday exams and left the school together with her friends.

Notwithstanding, she developed labour pains at night and was raced to the close by dispensary where she developed complications and kicked the bucket before she could be referred for specialized treatment.

“The report we have is a verbal one from the school management, and a comprehensive report will come later,” said Atebe.

Sources said the 18-year-old girl had not shown any signs of difficulties during the examination period and had intimated to her friends that her expected delivery date was due next week.

The KCSE examinations are set to come to an end next week.
