Around 300 guns confiscated from fake gun owners

In excess of 300 guns and 5,000 bullets have been recovered from gun holders with phony licenses, the Firearms Licensing Board said yesterday.

Inside CS Fred Matiang’i said the people falsely got the guns.

He said all individuals with guns must show up before the board so the agency knows who holds the permit.

Matiang’i said a portion of the guns confiscated are military grade weapons that ought not to be in the hands of regular citizens.

The ban for individuals with phony licenses or possessing guns without licenses finishes on March 7.

Police will launch a crackdown on those with illicit guns after vetting closes.
