Uhuru mourns Kabuchai MP James Mukwe

President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and comfort to the family and the people of Kabuchai Constituency following the death of their MP James Lusweti Mukwe.

Mukwe, a second term Ford Kenya MP, passed on on Friday at a Nairobi hospital where he was undergoing treatment following a long illness.

“It is unfortunate we have lost a very affective leader, an accomplished grassroots mobiliser whose development conscious politics shall be dearly missed by the people of Kabuchai and the entire nation.” Mourned President Kenyatta.

Further, his message read, “I remember Hon Mukwe as a man of few words who let his transformative work speak for him,” the President eulogised.

The Head of State mourned James Mukwe as one of the legislators in whose constituency public funds were properly utilized to deliver services to wananchi.

“The Hon Mukwe will be remembered for the many transformative development projects successfully delivered in Kabuchai Constituency during his time and for the proper utilization of public resources to deliver services,” he said.

Other leaders who mourned the departed MP are Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula.

Through his twitter handle, the senator who’s also the Ford Kenya party leader wrote, “It’s with profound shock and sorrow to learn of the passing on of Hon James Lusweti Mukwe, Kabuchai mp. He willl be remembered as a hardworking & loyal member of Fk party who served his people with utmost honesty, commitment & accountability. RIP kuka.”

ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Kabuchai MP Hon. James Lusweti Mukwe of FORD -K Party. I pray that God will grant his family strength during this unfortunate time. My most sincere condolences to his family, friends and the people of the larger Bungoma County.”
