MP donates uniforms, soccer kits to teams in constituency

The National Government Constituency Development Fund, NG-CDF Kanduyi has rolled out a soccer competition for men across the constituency.

The tourney, funded by the NG-CDF Kanduyi under area MP Wafula Wamunyinyi has brought on board soccer teams for men, played at ward level in all the eight wards.

Mr. Wamunyinyi told this author that he aims at nurturing talents, equipping teams as well as engaging the youth, a majority being school-going young men.

Speaking during the official launch, contest coordinator Cleophas Kiberenge said the aim is to engage teenagers during this holiday.

“Schools have closed and youths are idle at home. If left to their own devices they may end up in substance abuse and premarital sexual activities.” He told Radio Halisi.

Participating teams have received branded uniforms and a ball for each team, sponsored by Mr. Wamunyinyi for the 2021-22 financial year.
