MCA for Kapkateny ward, Mt Elgon Constituency, Joan Kirong, has urged the government to make BBI report copies available to members of the public.

She says this will allow them make rational decisions in regard to the eminent referendum.
Miss Kirong’ said this while addressing mourners in a funeral function at Nomorio, Mt. Elgon sub county.

“The major stakeholder in the BBI report is the voter who will decide whether it’s passed or not.

However, the government has not made the document accessible to the local citizens. Online documents are not enough and many citizens in remote areas don’t have access to the document.” She explained.

Further, she urged local leaders to help interpret the report for the locals.

She seized the opportunity to preach the gospel of “husler nation”, saying DP William Ruto is able to run the government come 2022.

However, Bungoma County Assembly nominated MCA Jane Kapkorom urged residents to reject BBI report should it fail to address their affairs.

She criticized the area Member of Parliament Fred Kapondi over his silence concerning the report.

She called upon political leaders to ensure the public understands the report as they shun divisive politics.

“It’s high time our MP broke his silence and talk to us about the report. We need to understand what our people stand to benefit from BBI.”
