I’m not interested in a handshake with Ruto, says Raila

President William Ruto had stated that he is not interested in shaking hands with Raila Odinga, the head of the Azimio.

Speaking on Monday during a rally at the Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi, Raila insists that he is not interested in a handshake with President Ruto.

On Sunday, Ruto and his supporters asserted that Raila planned the Kamukunji protest as a ruse to pressure the government into making a deal with him.

As the opposition stages a rally in support of a dossier alleging IEBC rigging, Ruto declared he would not give in to their demands.

“I will not allow a few people to treat Kenyans to rallies so that we stop serving the citizens and work for them. The end has come; there is no more. What you got from threats should be enough because we cannot be working for a few people year in and year out,” President Ruto said.

The Azimio leader has been in South Africa on a week-long tour in his capacity as the African Union’s Special Envoy on Infrastructure.
