Heavy security deployed at Milamani Law Courts ahead of Sonko’s prosecution

The governor of Nairobi Mike Mbuvi Sonko is presently at the Milimani law courts to answer to graft charges.

Sonko is being accused of misusing Sh357m county funds alongside a few other Nairobi County officials.

Today, he arranged a prominent group of 12 legal advisors for his defense in court including Makueni Senator Mutula Kilozo Junior, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Makueni MP Dan Maanzo and legal counsel Nelson Havi and eight others.

Embakasi East lawmaker Babu Owino and Senator Aaron Cheruiyot of Kericho County were additionally seen in court.

The Nairobi County boss was moved from the EACC main office under a vigorousla heavily armed police contingent. He landed at the Milimani Law Courts a few minutes to 8.00am.

The roads leading Milimani Law Courts area have been closed and traffic re-coordinated to other adjoining roads.

Police have cautioned Sonko’s supporters intending to demonstrate that they will be managed as needs be.
