Didmus Barasa speaks on Ruto Cabinet

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa on Wednesday reacted on President William Ruto’s cabinet.

This comes barely one day after President Ruto named his cabinet, comprising of both politicians and technocrats.

Barasa, a Kenya Kwanza loyalist, has commended Ruto for the selection.

“The new Cabinet Secretaries are both competent and fit for purpose,” Didmus said.

According to the second term MP, the new cabinet will help President Ruto in delivering on his promises.

“They understand the Kenya Kwanza agenda and what the plan is for the citizens,” he added.

Ruto named his first cabinet on Tuesday, sending home all of his predecessor’s cabinet.

Leaders and Kenyans have since remained divided on the President’s move.

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina, on Wednesday summersaulted, asking the National Assembly to approve the Cabinet.

“A lot is being said … but let’s be honest with each other; do we have an Angel in this country? Raise your hand if you are one! Let it be …Kwani ? Aren’t we all hypocrites? Don’t we receive kickbacks when given a chance to serve as PS or minister? Approve them all!” He said.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, criticised Ruto’s cabinet, saying it was “an update list of criminals from the office of DPP.”
