As the debate around the competency-based curriculum CBC escalates in the country, leaders allied to the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration have vowed to scrap the program.
In their arguments, the leaders maintain that the program overburdens the already burdened parents.
However, Education CS Prof George Magoha defended the program, saying it prepares learners to become self-employed.
His remarks, on the contrary, did not sit well with Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa.
Taking to his social media pages, the second term lawmaker derisively hit at Magoha.
“You are a highly qualified Medic by training, why didn’t you employ yourself?” He posed.
According to Barasa, Prof. Magoha’s latest stance on CBC is aimed at buying his stay in President William Ruto’s government.
During his inauguration on September 13, 2022, President Ruto said he would appoint a taskforce to probe into the curriculum.
