The debate about who won the presidential election of August 9, 2022, resumed on Wednesday, with Azimio la Umoja asserting that Raila Odinga defeated President William Ruto.

According to the opposition coalition, a whistleblower reported that Raila got 8,170,355 votes, or 57.53 percent of the vote, compared to Ruto’s 5,915,973 votes (41.66 percent of the vote).

An Azimio affiliate, Jubilee Party said that the opposition agreed with the whistleblower.

Jubilee secretary general Jeremiah Kioni said: “We have no reason to doubt the information, which confirmed our fears.”

Kioni said at a press conference in Nairobi that Raila will make a thorough explanation when he returns to the nation.

The whistleblower should be believed, according to Kioni, because he disclosed his identity and contacts.
