Authorities in Homa Bay County have initiated a thorough investigation into a shocking incident where a group of four men launched a violent attack and sexually assaulted  the wife of a local village elder in Kanyango.

The disturbing event unfolded as these individuals forcefully entered the residence of the village elder on Monday night. In the absence of her husband, the 25-year-old woman fell victim to the merciless assault.

Disturbingly, reports reveal that the woman was in her bed, accompanied by her two-year-old daughter when the culprits forcibly entered their home in the dead of night, and assaulted the woman.

Assistant Chief Samuel Nyagwara of Kanyango Location provided insights into the situation, stating that the four assailants were determined to ascertain the whereabouts of the village elder.

After the traumatic incident, Mr. Nyagwara disclosed that the perpetrators threatened the victim, warning her of dire consequences should she attempt to seek help or raise an alarm.

As if their horrifying actions weren’t enough, the criminals also absconded with the victim’s mobile phone and a substantial sum of Ksh.17,000, adding further distress to this already deeply distressing situation.

Local authorities, in conjunction with the police, are now actively pursuing leads and evidence to bring these perpetrators to justice and provide support to the victim and her family during this trying time.
