Rwanda Extends Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

In a poignant gesture of solidarity, Rwanda has dispatched humanitarian aid to Gaza, standing with Palestinian civilians affected by the ongoing conflict between Israel and the militant group, Hamas.

On a recent Friday, a Rwandair Cargo plane carrying a cargo of 16 tons of much-needed medicine, food, and water landed in Jordan, marking a critical juncture in the aid journey destined for Gaza.

Due to an Israeli blockade, direct aid deliveries from Jordan to Gaza have been obstructed. However, the Rwandan assistance is slated to reach its destination through Egypt. The United Nations, on the same Friday, announced its successful mediation to permit the entry of the initial 20 aid trucks into Gaza through the Rafah crossing from Egypt, a significant breakthrough since the conflict erupted on October 7.

“The Government of Rwanda, through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, acting on behalf of the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, has provided humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in Gaza,” affirmed Yolande Makolo, the Rwanda Government Spokesperson.

This humanitarian mission underscores the international community’s efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people affected by the conflict in Gaza and provides a glimmer of hope in these challenging times.
