Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi has lauded his constituents over the resilience and unwavering support towards his leadership.

Hon. Wamunyinyi who began his development tour within the constituency, said he attributes his success to the people of Kanduyi.

“I am one of the ranking leaders in parliament, all this attributed to your support. All the respect accorded to me out there and in parliament is as a result of your believe in me. Therefore, I will forever remain grateful to you.” Said Wamunyinyi, who also doubles up as a Ford Kenya party leader on interim basis.

While on the tour, the Kanduyi MP slammed Wetang’ula for clinging to Ford Kenya leadership despite the ouster that occured last year.

He walked the cheering crowd down memory lane, in regard to how Wetang’ula’s leadership ended.

“The Ford Kenya National Executive Council last year ousted Wetang’ula. Did you hear about it…? The same NEC members who kicked him out wanted to hand the reigns to another person on interim basis. However, that person chickened out…After consultations they settled on me. They said because I have been in the party for a long time since the days of (the late) Wamalwa Kijana, I was able to lead the party until the next elections. I accepted. Did I do wrong to take up leadership?”

He continued, “then Wetang’ula went to court to petition the Registrar of political parties against effecting changes until the case is heard and determined. But despite that, it is obvious that he was kicked out. The NEC does not recognize him as a leader…the NEC asked me as a leader to call for elections. Delegates from across the country were ready for the elections, only for the same Wetang’ula to rush to court seeking orders against the elections.”

Mr. Wamunyinyi went on to ridicule the Bungoma senator for joyriding in the One Kenya Alliance, in which he is masquerading as party leader.

“Musalia Mudavadi is the ANC principal, Raila Odinga is the ODM principal, Kalonzo Musyoka is the wiper party principal. When they declare their interest in the top seat, do you see them running for other positions? They have run for the presidency albeit unsuccessfully, they always remain focused. Have you seen Wetang’ula running for the presidency despite lying to you that he will vie? Instead he cowers and comes back to vie for the senatorial position. If it’s true he is a co-principal as he calls himself, why can’t he man up and run for the top seat so that he can also taste defeat?”

Mr. Wamunyinyi personally paid visits to various schools among them Sikkalame, Sango, mufule, Nabutola, Lutungu, and maliki, issuing cheques that we see the construction of new structures as well as renovations.
