William Wamalwa Junior, the child to the late Vice President Michael Kijana Wamalwa is dead.

William Junior died on Sunday night at their Milimani home in Kitale, as indicated by reports.

According to his uncle Robert Wamalwa, Willy Junior died with diabetes. However the family is waiting for postmortem assessment.

“My nephew was diabetic. That could have probably led to his death but, of course, [when] the official autopsy report is out we will be able to know what happened,” he clarified.

The family has further urged the public to ignore rumours on social media that the late Vice President’s son passed on from depression, alcohol abuse and starvation.

“It is really very unfair that people should not capitalise on something like that. They should have a sense of decorum and respect to the family and the dead,” he said as quoted by the local Daily Nation.

William Wamalwa Junior was the third born in his family and a 2nd-year university student.
