Kenyan Judiciary is facing a “huge” crisis of alcohol abuse among judges and magistrates, Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has claimed.

According to Abdullahi, judges and magistrates go on drinking sprees around the clock, asking Chief Justice Martha Koome to consider opening a rehabilitation center for judges.

“CJ Koome will never admit but Kenyan judiciary is facing a huge crisis of alcohol abuse among judges/magistrates,” he said.

Further, the lawyer added, “judges and magistrates drinking all night (Monday to Sunday) in local bars, many collapsing in bars is now common.”
