AFC Leopards coach Anthony Kimani has been offered a long-term contract at the den, the club chairman Dan Shikanda has said.

Kimani was heading the team on interim basis after Rwandese coach Cassa Mbungo left the club.

He managed to guide Ingwe and finished at the sixth position by the time the season was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“He has worked under very difficult conditions and confirmed he can do the job. I don’t think we are in a hurry of getting somebody else,” Shikanda said.

Kimani had been working as an assistant to Cassa Mbungo the later moved to his native country.

Meanwhile, the club is seeking to sign a maximum of three experienced players.

“We are not looking to bring in a big number of players but we want to build the team around what we already have. We will wait and see if some players will leave but we want to keep a hold of all our players and maybe add three experienced players and three youthful ones,” Shikanda noted.

He added that the management will not block any player from leaving the club, saying they will only keep players who want to play for AFC Leopards.
