On June 1, at the Kasarani Annex, the Football Kenya Federation inaugurated the Fifa FKF Women Football Campaign.

The Women’s Football Campaign is an international initiative that strives to boost female football participation and support the growth of women and girls in the game.

It focuses on developing a systematic pathway that fosters young players, giving them the assistance and direction they require to flourish in football and pursue opportunities with the national team and in the professional sphere in the future.

“This campaign is a significant step towards empowering young girls and promoting women’s football in Kenya,” FKF President Nick Mwendwa said during the launch.

“Through this campaign, we will be conducting football clinics and tournaments in schools across the country, giving young girls an opportunity to showcase their skills and talent. We will also be providing equipment, training materials, and in-kind support to schools,” added Mwendwa.

The campaign will help create a platform to commence girls’ grassroots football leagues.
