Congolese singer and composer Tshala Muana is dead, Actualite.cd has reported.

According to the outlet, the musician’s death was confirmed my her relatives on Saturday morning.

Tshala Muana died in Kinshasa this Saturday at the age of 64.

“In the early hours of this morning, the good Lord made the decision to take over the national Mamu Tshala Muana. May the good God be glorified for all the good times she has given us on this earth. Farewell Mamu from me,” published Claude Mashala, her companion on his Facebook account.

Tshala Muana is known for several hit songs in the country.

Originally from Kasai, she was also a member of the PPRD, the party of Joseph Kabila.

In 2020, she was arrested and later released by President Felix Tshisekedi’s administration after releasing the song Ingratitudè.
