Tottenham Hottspur mid-field anchor man Victor Wanyama could return in action for his English Premier League side as early as this weekend.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino says Wanyama is back in training and is anticipated to be ready for first team action sooner than later.

“Victor has started to join the group. We’ll see if it’s possible for him to be involved in the FA Cup at the weekend. It’s very good news for us in the last few days to recover Moussa (Sissoko) and Lucas (Moura) and Wanyama is so close,” he told Spurs official website on Wednesday.

The Harambee Stars’ captain last featured for Tottenham against Crystal Palace on 10 November 2018 and has been laid low by a knee injury since then.

Wanyama is expected to be ready for selection for Kenya’s national soccer squad ahead of this year’s edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, June, 2019.
