Harambee Stars head coach Sebastien Migne has threatened to leave if the government fails to pay his three months’ salary.
“I’ve not received my salary for the past three months. I am yet to receive payment of my accommodation but whenever I read the newspaper, everyone is talking of winning AFCON,” Migne told the Nation.
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) admits that the coach is owed three months’ salary and they are waiting for the government to wire in the money.
FKF media chief Barry Otieno says the coach has issued the federation a quit notice dated December 19 if the dues are not paid by then.
“He (Migne) has already slapped the federation with a deadline of December 19 and if the money is not paid in full, he has threatened to quit. We hope the issue will be sorted out as soon as possible because we need him to prepare the team for the 2019 Afcon finals,” Otieno told Goal.com
Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that Kenya will be taking part in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Harambee Stars last featured in AFCON finals in 2004 in Tunisia.
