A 48-year-old woman purportedly killed her one-year-old baby before committing suicide in Kapchebwai village, Kericho County on Friday evening.

As indicated by area Assistant Chief Paul Chumo, Recho Chumo is suspected to have strungled her baby before hanging herself using a rope inside her house over health related issues.

Chumo said the lady, who was a widow had hinted to her in-law about her health status and was encouraged to look for medical consideration at a health facility where she was placed under prescription.

He further said the body of the lady was found by her elder daughter who was resting in another house, with the child’s body lying on the bed they shared.

The body has been taken to St Vincent Hospital Mortuary in Muhoroni, Kisumu County.

Police have launched investigations concerning the occurrence.
