Employee who murdered KPLC manager’s son after his dismissal arrested

A 30-year-old man suspected to have killed a KPLC manager’s child who was a student at Maseno High school, has been captured.

Transmara West DCIO Wafula Masinde said the suspect who is being held at Kilgoris police headquarters in Transmara West, Narok County, was captured in Kuresoi after a tip off from residents.

Hillary Langat had been working for the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), Kilgoris station, as a driver for a month prior to his job termination by the station manager.

After his dismissal, Langat is reported to have gone to the station manager’s home in Milimani estate in Kilgoris and stabbed the manger’s son using a kitchen knife.

The kid succumbed to wounds while being rushed to hospital for treatment.

The occurrence happened in March 2018 when the student was on half-term break.
