In the latest Cabinet reshuffle announced by President William Ruto, several key changes have taken place in various cabinet positions:
- EALA CS Rebecca Miano has been reassigned to the Trade and Industry docket, replacing the former Gatundu South MP.
- Water CS Alice Wahome has switched roles with Zachary Njeru of the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, and Urban Development.
- Trade CS Moses Kuria has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management.
- Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS Alfred Mutua has been redeployed to the Tourism and Wildlife docket.
- Public Service, Gender, and Affirmative Action CS Aisha Jumwa now head the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage.
- Peninah Malonza has been moved from the Tourism docket to the Ministry of East Africa Community, ASALS, and East Africa Development.
Additionally, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s mandate has expanded to include the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs. President Ruto stated that these reassignments align with Article 152(5)(a) of the Constitution. This reshuffle follows Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s earlier hint at potential changes in government positions, emphasizing the President’s authority to make such adjustments when deemed appropriate.
