Odinga and Moi to work together to win the seat

Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Kanu Chairman Gideon Moi made the clearest sign of working together Tuesday, when they held talks at a Nairobi hotel.

Sources aware of the metting said that the two heads want to cooperate, and that they talked about the likelihood of accomplishing that through joined endeavors to secure the Wajir West parliamentary seat.

Despite the fact that ODM director of elections Junet Mohammed, who was present during the meeting, did not affirm the likelihood of the two heads cooperating in 2022, other leaders interviewed said that was unavoidable.

Raila and Moi met at The Lord Erroll restaurant in Runda for over three hours.

“It is true the two leaders met and basically what was discussed was how to bring Kenyans together,” the MP said.

“They discussed how they can work together in the Wajir West parliamentary by election,” he added.

ODM, Kanu and Jubilee parties have every single cleared possibility to compete for the seat.

Ahmed Kolosh Mohammed, who has been the area MP until his triumph was invalidated by the Supreme Court a Month ago, was elected on August 8, 2017, on an ODM ticket but he will now vie on the Jubilee Party in the April 25 by-election. He .

ODM has cleared Prof Mohammed Yusuf Elmi, while Kanu’s competitor will be Abdirahman Ibrahim Mohammed, the successful petitioner in the issue.

Should Odinga and Moi’s meeting bear fruits, either ODM or Kanu will drop its candidate as they unite to back one contender to go head to head with the Jubilee candidate.
