Mwaura denies Ruto-Gachagua rift claims

The newly appointed Government Spokesperson, Isaac Mwaura, has firmly denied recent reports suggesting a rift between President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua.

These reports surfaced over the weekend when the Head of State disagreed with Gachagua’s statement that the government should prioritize regions that strongly supported the Kenya Kwaza regime in the last general election.

In an interview with CitizenĀ  TVĀ  on Monday night, Mwaura dismissed these allegations as media fabrication. He stated, “The idea of a rift is a creation of the media. The President and the Deputy President are aligned in their objectives.”

Mwaura emphasized that the government’s commitment is to serve all Kenyans equally, regardless of their voting preferences in the last presidential election. However, he acknowledged that individuals who supported the current administration might receive priority in State appointments due to their alignment with the government’s vision.

He clarified, “I want to emphasize that every Kenyan has an equal opportunity to access government services. While it’s true that those who supported the President and the Deputy President may have an advantage in certain appointments, the President is reaching out to all citizens, even those who did not vote for him, to promote national progress.”

Mwaura concluded by highlighting the unity between the President and the Deputy President, stating, “I see no difference between their positions on the matter of resource allocation. There may be misinterpretations, but the media should not attempt to create division between them.”
