Juventus and Portugal forward Christiano Ronaldo has today tested positive for Coronavirus, according to the Portuguese Football Federation.

This means that Christiano Ronaldo will be out of the Portuguese squad that will  face Sweden in a Nations League group game on Wednesday.

The Fernarndo Santos’ remaining squad has tested negative for Covid-19 and are available for the selection.

Portugal is leading the group with 7 points after three games besides playing out a nil draw with France in Paris on Sunday level on points with the world champions.

The Portuguese captain set a record when he became the first European footballer to score 100 international goals when his side beat Sweden in the reverse Nations League fixture in September 2020.

As a result, Ronaldo is set to miss Juventus Serie A fixture at Crotone on 17th this month and when his side will be playing their opening UEFA Champions’ League group game against Dynamo Kiev on October 20 before taking on Italian champions Verona on October 25.

Christiano Ronaldo posted a selfie with the Portugal squad on social media on Monday night with the caption “United on and off the field!”
