Azimio postpones its Kisii Monday rally

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition has postponed its mega rally that was to be held at the Gusii Stadium on Monday, February 13.
Kisii County ODM Chairman Kerosi Ondieki said the planned rally has been moved to Friday, February 17 in order “to give room for proper preparation.”

According to Mr Ondieki, the party requested Azimio secretariat to enable County Governor Simba Arati spearhead proper arrangements for his grand entry to Gusii stadium.

The developments come against a backdrop of protests from Kisii leaders allied to President William Ruto, who on Sunday asked Azimio to call of their rallies, saying they were not welcome in Kisii.

Now, Kerosi has termed the remarks made by former Kisii Governor James Ongwae and Joash Maangi as laughable, calling for residents to turn up in large numbers to welcome Azimio brigade inside the historic stadium on Friday.

ODM maintains that they are still intact in the vast Gusii region and will never be derailed by sentiments of individuals jostling for positions under Kenya Kwanza Administration.
