Kenyans to stay in the dark as KPLC systems fail again

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company has once again caused Kenyans to stay in the dark barely a month after a nationwide blackout.
KPLC customers have been unable to purchase electricity tokens on the utility’s prepaid system from Thursday 19th October Morning.
While acknowledging the downtime in its system, KPLC has promised its customers that they were working on the situation and would restore power as soon as possible.
“We are experiencing a glitch in the prepaid system, which is affecting the generation of electricity tokens. We are working to restore normalcy within the shortest time possible,” the notice read.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
This is not the first time KPLC is experiencing downtime and customers are unable to purchase tokens.
