Eric Omondi Raises Funds to Support Smokie Vendor

Renowned Kenyan comedian turned activist, Eric Omondi, has taken a bold step in supporting a smokie vendor, Quinter Adhiambo, who suffered significant losses when city authorities seized her trolley and those of her fellow vendors.

Quinter Adhiambo’s story caught the attention of Eric Omondi, inspiring him to take action. Known for his advocacy to reduce the cost of living in Kenya, Omondi reached out to fellow Kenyans, urging them to join in supporting Quinter and her family.

In a social media announcement on his Instagram page, Omondi pledged his commitment to help Quinter by initiating a fundraising campaign through Instagram Live. He declared, “Nimepata Quinter, guys; we are going live in a few. We are going to change her life totally. Start sending money to her at number 0704075542; her name is Quinter Adhiambo. Let’s do this, guys!!!”

The response was swift and heartening. A Twitter user provided an update on Eric’s fundraising efforts, revealing that the comedian had successfully raised at least Ksh300,000 towards the target of Ksh500,000 as of 11:00 pm.

Thursday morning brought exciting news for Omondi and his supporters. He announced with enthusiasm that they had successfully raised Ksh556,000 in just three hours. Omondi urged people to continue contributing to the cause, saying, “Wakiangusha tunainua!!! Last night, we pulled off a remarkable feat by raising Ksh 556,000 in just three hours for Quinter. This incredible effort was in response to the city council’s disgraceful act of kicking and tossing her stock to the ground. What the devil intended to shatter, God used to elevate. It’s a resounding victory for us! Let’s continue to change Quinter’s life completely by sending donations to her at 0702776359.”

Eric Omondi’s actions have not only provided much-needed support to Quinter Adhiambo but have also highlighted the power of community and compassion in making a difference in the lives of those in need. This remarkable response reflects the impact that individuals can have when they come together to support one another in times of adversity.
