A woman caused a ruckus in Kitui on Thursday after she stripped naked as she fought a move by the police to arrest her for assault.

The middle-aged woman is said to have assaulted a male partner at a nearby bar famously known as the Signal Pub.

It took serious endeavors by the police to contain the woman before she was arrested.

According to Kitui police commander Johana Tanui the man who was assaulted was recovering at a nearby emergency clinic.

“She used beer bottles to hit him on the head. He is bleeding badly but we took him to hospital. He was unconscious,” he said.

Police indicated the woman had been under investigations for drug peddling.
