Woman rapes primary school boy in police cell

Nechesa

A woman accused of murder was yesterday charged with defiling a minor inside a cell at a police station in Nairobi.

Police said that while Naomi Nechesa (pictured) was being held at the Riruta Police Station, she lured a 15-year-old boy into her cell and defiled him.

Nechesa, who was not represented by a lawyer, faced a separate count of engaging in an indecent act with a minor.

She pleaded not guilty before Milimani Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot.

Prosecutor Kennedy Panyako requested the court to expedite the hearing of the matter.

”Your honour, the child is vulnerable and is in the care of a children’s home. Kindly give us the earliest opportunity for him to testify.”

Nechesa stunned the court when she told Mr Cheruiyot that she would like to plead to the murder charge. “Your honour, I want to plead guilty to the murder charges now.”

But the magistrate told Nechesa that since the murder charges had not been presented in court, she could not plead to them.

Cheruiyot also agreed with the prosecution’s plea not to free the accused and denied her bail.

Hearing of the defilement begins tomorrow. The minor is expected to testify.
