Woman murdered in a residential fight

A 25-year-old man is being held by police after killing a 33-year-old woman in Kibera, Nairobi.

A blood-stained kitchen knife was recovered from the suspect’s house following the passing of Mwandikwa Kimwele in Silanga area.

Police say they suspect that the two had a residential squabble prompting the homicide.

Nairobi Police commander Philip Ndolo said they are yet to know the motive behind the Kibera ghettos end of the week incident but his team was cross examining the suspect.

“We assure women and all concerned we will protect them and ensure justice when needed,” he said.
