Citizen TV presenter Willis Raburu is a sad man, after his grandfather Willis Otondi passed on Friday.

Mr. Otondi was a respected chairman of the Luo Council of elders.

Taking to social media, Raburu expressed his pain over the loss.

“This one hits different and hurts! My grandfather, he who I am named after, Ker Willis Opiyo Otondi! How can it be though that just yesterday we were talking and today…..,” he wrote on his Twitter handle.

The late Otondi has also been mourned by leaders and Kenyans at large.

“Ker Willis Otondi’s passing has left us with a heavy heart; it is a great loss for the wider Luo nation. Kenya has lost a distinguished member of society. Sad for the Luo nation to lose him at this moment,” eulogized Azimio leader Raila Odinga

“The death of Ker Willis Otondi is very painful to the Luo Nation. We have lost a strong, and virtuous elder. A visionary leader who held the community together,” said Siaya Government James Orengo.
