Three people, 2 men aged 63 and 28, and a woman were found dead in Pipeline area, Nairobi in the most bizarre position.

According to reports by the police, Philip Murefu Simiyu aged 63, Boniface Muchiri Waruiru aged 28, and the yet to be identified woman booked a room at the  Chairman Lounge Guest Housing Pipeline on Monday midnight and were found dead on the same day.

When they booked the room, the management thought they wanted to enjoy themselves.

But they failed to check out of the room on Monday afternoon as anticipated.

That is when the management was prompted to inform the police after the attendant who went to check on them failed to get a response.

On arrival, police broke the door only to find the trio’s dead bodies. The trio, whose lips were intercrossed, held each other, witnesses and police said.

But one of the men was bleeding from the mouth and nose when the bodies were discovered Monday afternoon.

Police are yet to discover the cause of death but investigations are underway. They however are of the thought that the trio might be in a cult. There was, however, no sign of break-in or struggle in the room, which made police conclude for now it might be suicide.

Detectives from homicide said they were tracing the families of the deceased to understand what could have happened.

“The postmortem will tell us if they took poison or what happened in the room. For now, we do not know what could have led to the deaths,” said the head of Nairobi DCI Paul Wachira.
