Tears & emotions runs high as Magufuli’s body arrive at his Chato home for burial

John Pombe Magufuli will be laid to rest on Friday 26th March at his Chato home and his body has already arrived.

It was a sad scenario as the body arrived at his home with residents in disbelieve that this was the  is the last time they’ll get to see their son.

Contrary to other times when Magufuli would address the people of Chato while they cheer at him at the road sides, this time it was different. Magufuli’s lifeless body passed the roadside, Chato residents crying and wailing in pain following their son’s death.

Hundreds of mourners filled the road side as they threw Kangas on the ground with others throwing themselves down, crying painfully and tears rolling freely for their hero.

Others waved tree branches while others were kneeling carrying posters written on “Shujaa wa Africa’ (Africa’s hero).

Magufuli passed away on Wednesday 17th March at the Mzena Hospital in Dar Es Salaam. Although speculations are rife that he died of COVID-19, President Samia Suluhu revealed that he died of a heart complication.

His Chato home is expecting to be filled with dignitaries and leaders from all walks of life as they join the family in laying the president to rest.
