Suspect linked to KTN’s “Baba Junior” murder detained for 5 days

A suspect in the murder of TV performing artist Jamal Nasul appeared before senior principal magistrate Charity Chebii Oluoch, but no charges were read to her.

Grace Kanamu Namu is alleged to have fatally stabbed her lover in the chest on Wednesday in Mlolongo, Athi River, following a heated argument.

She was arraigned on Thursday but did not take a pleas when she appeared at the Mavoko Law Courts on Thursday.

The prosecution requested for more time to complete investigations.

Oluoch granted the defence lawyer Cliff Ombeta’s request to take the suspect to hospital for treatment.

“I direct that the accused be locked up at Mlolongo police station until December 18 when she will be returned to court for mentioning. She should be taken to hospital for treatment,” Oluoch said.

Namu was arrested on Wednesday for purportedly stabbing her lover to death.
