Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has surprised many after he alleged that ODM Party leader Raila Odinga who is the frontier of the Building Bridges Initiative does not know the content that is in the second and final draft of it.
According to Murkomen, the BBI process has been managed like a private property yet it is a public matter.
Murkomen’s allegations comes after reports have claimed that the report will soon be reviewed by the Cabinet this weekend before its launch.
“So the Cabinet will discuss BBI final report tomorrow and be launched in State House on Saturday?” he posed.
“I can’t remember any other process that involves the people of Kenya that has been managed like private property even more than official secrets. Now let the campaigns begin.”
Via post on twitter on Thursday, Murkomen claimed that he was sure that not even Raila nor the BBI task force Chairman Yusuf Haji knew the contents of the report.
“Even Raila & Yusuf Haji don’t know the contents just like they didn’t know what was in the first report that was launched in Bomas. All are waiting Saturday’s launch,” he said.
There were reports that the president will meet the leadership of both Houses of Parliament on Saturday.
The meeting is said to be about the anticipated Building Bridges Initiative report.
On his part, ODM leader Raila Odinga has continued to lore Kenyans to support the BBI revealing that it was a tool to end election impunity in the country.
Murkomen is an ally of Deputy President William Ruto and a veteran member of the Tanga Tanga who have been against the BBI since its inception.
