Sharon Otieno’s murder suspect says he’s sick and has been left to die at Kamiti Prison

One of the suspects in the killing of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno claims that he has been left to die at Kamiti Prison.

Casper Ojwang’ claims that he is critically ill and he has not received treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) because of a debt the jails department owes the doctor’s facility.

“I have been left at the mercy of nature wherein I continue to wilt, deteriorate and die a slow and painful death,” his letter to the President of Court of Appeal William Ouko.

In a letter that the court received on December 3rd, Ojwang’ uncovers that his lung has collapsed.

“The ongoing impasse has led to our client’s health to continue to deteriorate and his position worsens every day,” the letter written by his lawyer Jack Oronga reads.

His condition was affirmed in a different letter by jail authorities, who say he was taken to KNH after his wellbeing failed to improve, however was turned back.

Ojwang was charged alongside Migori Governor Okoth Obado and Obado’s Personal Aide Michael Oyamo following manslaughter of Sharon.
