Senator Murkomen booed during launch of BBI report

Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was booed during the public launch of Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report at Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi.

The heckling started when Murkomen said the Tanga Tanga team allied to Deputy President William Ruto had been sidelined.

“Today’s programme has been skewed to exclude other people from expressing their views,” he claimed.

But the delegates appeared agitated by his remarks and started telling him to shut up.

It forced BBI taskforce chairman Yusuf Haji to intervene to calm down the crowd before Murkomen ended his speech with: “Kwendeni huko!”

The brigade allied to DP Ruto appeared lost during the fully-packed event that streamed live in most local television stations.

President Kenyatta and Raila’s allies who also spoke during the launch were Gladys Wanga, Governors Wycliffe Oparanya, Hassan Joho, Charity Ngilu, Anne Waiguru, Kiraitu Murungi and Mike Sonko.

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen were the key Dr Ruto’s ally who spoke.

Others were legislator Millie Odhiambo, Sabina Chege, Senator James Orengo, Kanu Secretary General Nick Salat, Cotu boss Francis Atwoli, ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula.
