Sarah could kill us if released – Cohen siblings

Lawyer Chege Kirundi (centre) for the late Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen flanked by Cohen’s brother Benard Cohen and sister Gabriele Cohen.

Relatives of killed Dutchman Tob Cohen need his widow Sarah Wairimu denied bail since they could be targets for murder should she be free.

Benard Cohen and his sister Gabrielle Cohen, both blood kin of the killed investor, have told the court in sworn affirmations that discharging Wairimu will pose danger to their lives given the gravity of the wrongdoing she is accused of.

“As family members of the deceased, whom the applicant is suspected to have murdered, I’m apprehensive about my safety as a witness in the trial, should the applicant be released on bail,” Benard Cohen said.

The 52-year-old Wairimu is suspected to have slaughtered her 71-year-old spouse. She is yet to take a plea.

The police found Cohen’s body in an unfilled water tank in his Kitisuru home compound, Nairobi, on September 13. He had been missing since July 19.

Cohen was buried on Tuesday as per Jewish rituals.
