Safaricom gets new Chief Finance Officer

A leading telecommunication in Kenya, Safaricom has named Dilip Pal as its new Chief Finance Officer (CFO).

Pal’s duties begin effective from November 1, 2020.

Prior to his appointment, Pal who has more than 29 years experience in Finance, served in the third largest mobile phone services provider DTAC, in Thailand since 2017 in the same capacity.

He replaces Sateesh Kamath who was promoted to the Vodafone Business CFO post at the end of June, 2020.

Ilanna Darcy, Safaricom’s Head of Investor Relations had held the vacant post on an interim basis since July 1.

Pal holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Goennka College of Commerce and a Master’s in Commerce from Calcutta University, both in India.

Additionally, he will serve in the Safaricom PLC Board as an alternative director to Chief Executive Officer Peter Ndegwa.
