Ruto’s allies badly attack Matiang’i in his own home

Tanga Tanga leaders, a faction associated with Deputy President Willaim Ruto, have on Thursday ruthlessly teared into Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i for intimidating the hustler movement.

While in Nyamira, Gusii land where Matiang’I hails from, in an event presided over by the DP, the leaders condemned the CS.

Led by Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, the leaders condemned the CS for allowing the police to teargas its supporters in Murang’a on Sunday last week, an event that left two people dead and scores injured.

“How many people has your person helped to get in government, KWS, Prisons even empowerment, and yet he calls himself a leader. Power is temporary, use it in assisting the poor,” he said.

Ruto’s allies are now demanding that the government apologize and compensate the families that lost their loved ones during the mayhem.

Another Ruto ally, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro went further to dare the CS to arrest him over the Murang’a chaos now that he was in Gusii land.

“We know some selfish men in government who planned to teargas bodaboda riders and church members, I dare you to come and arrest us,” said Nyoro.

“We are not afraid of teargas even if you lob it to us daily we will not move an inch,” he noted.

Nyoro went on to revel that DP followers got dismissed from the house committee’s leadership because they are following the DP.

“We have been suspended because we are following the DP. But that will not make us move back,” he said.

Sylvanus Osoro joined his counterparts in condemning Matiang’I and said “We need protection not to be teargassed. We are aware some of you have stolen Covid 19 funds and you are here chasing us around because we want to lobby for resources to help our fellow hustlers. Shame on you”.

On his part, Ruto claimed that police officers are good people, who are hustlers looking for food for their families but are being misused by people who give ‘orders from above’.

“These policemen have no problem. The problem is the people who live in the ivory tower who don’t know the problem that some people are going through,” Ruto said.
