Rooney to make a one-off comeback in his own charity foundation match

English soccer body, Football Association (FA) sold more than 20,000 tickets of the clash between England and the United States.

The friendly match between these two countries attracted a huge attention from fans because it is a one-time comeback of the former captain Wayne Rooney as confirmed by sources close to FA.

Former Everton FC captain, currently playing for D.C United FC in the USA, Wayne Rooney is England’s record scorer with 53 goals.

Rooney is likely to be brought on as a substitute to claim his 120th Tittle in the charity friendly match at Wembley on Thursday.

Confirmation of the news of Rooney’s participation caused a late rush for tickets. The FA has now predicted that over 60, 000 fans will attend the much anticipated friendly match.

The football match is a charity event which has partnered with the Wayne Rooney Foundation.

The funds from ticket sale will be donated in an aims to support the lives of underprivileged children.

England’s manager Mr. Southgate has said he will rest some players to give them enough time to recover ahead of their Sunday’s clash against Croatia.
