“Refer to Gachagua as H.E, not Hon,” Judge tells lawyer in court

Environment and Lands court has extended orders stopping the transfer of Ksh 1.5 billion shillings property in which deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is claiming ownership.

The court will hear the application before it on October 13, 2022, Justice Oguttu Mboya has ruled.

While constantly referring to his client as ‘Hon’, Justice Oguttu reminded Gachagua’s lawyer Philip Nyachoti to change the title to ‘H.E’.

“You know that Africans are obsessed with titles maybe you change the titles of your client from Hon.to He,” the judge joked

In the legal tussle, Gachagua claims that the former Director of Physical planning John Michael Ohas has tampered with records at the land office in a bid to rob him of the property.

The property, he says, is charged to the Equity bank as collateral for various financial facilities granted to him at Sh200 million.
