KENYA:
President William Ruto on Thursday presided over his first Mashujaa Day as President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defense Forces, in a poorly attended function at the UHURU GARDENS, Nairobi.
In the national function attended by top government, political and diplomatic officials as well as Military Commanders, the President inspected his first full military guard of honor as President.
After a military parade from the various security personnel, and entertainment from various groups, the President made his Address to the Nation in a one hour ten minute speech, that at times found the Head of State catching his breathe.
Over 22,000 Wananchi attended the function.
The longest speech so far made by President Ruto, highlighted the following important points:
- Farmers will get affordable farm inputs, 57 Dams for Irrigation to be built and distribution of 650 milk coolers to revive the dairy farming

Kenyans to have access to affordable houses for as low as 5000/- a month. At least 5000 units will be built in every county.

Kenyans will be freed from CRB and Hustler Fund will be available for Chamas, groups, saccos and cooperative at less than 9% interest.

NHIF to move from Individual to Household Contribution Scheme and of course the Government will employ more medics.

There will be universal broadband to boost the creative economy and over 80% of government services will be available online.

No more extra judicial killings and the financial independence of the criminal justice system will always be guaranteed.

The Education system will be reformed to deliver the best training and skills needed for development

Every Kenyan to grow at least 300 trees to help us achieve 15bn trees by 2032. This will greatly mitigate drought.

Kenya supports Africa Continental Free Trade Area because it will empower small and medium enterprises.
